Who I am

MVR Education Ltd is the data controller for the information described here, which means I decide what is collected and what happens to it.

What I collect, and when

When you register for a free live session. Your name, your email address, and your phone number if the form asks for one. If you register through an advert on Facebook or Instagram, the form is provided by Meta and your details are passed to me from it.

When you ask me to call you. Your name, your email address and your phone number, plus anything you choose to tell me in the message.

When you join the community. Your name and your email address.

When you email me. Whatever is in your email, including your address and anything you tell me about your child.

When you visit the website. My hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and browser information. These are used to keep the site running and secure.

I do not ask for, and do not want, anything about your child's health, diagnoses or special educational needs on a form. If you choose to tell me something like that in an email or on a call, I will use it only to answer you properly, and I will not share it.

Why I collect it, and my lawful basis

To run the live sessions and send you the link and reminders. Lawful basis: consent, which you give by registering, and which you can withdraw at any time.

To send you emails about teaching, the sessions and what I offer. Lawful basis: consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works.

To reply to you, and to arrange and hold a call. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, specifically responding to somebody who has asked to hear from me. You asked, so I answer.

To keep records of who I have worked with, and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation, and legitimate interests in running the business properly.

Who else sees it

I do not sell your information and I do not share it for anyone else's marketing. I use a small number of service providers who process it on my behalf:

Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, where you register through an advert on Facebook or Instagram. Meta collects the form and passes the details to me. Meta also uses your information under its own privacy policy, which I do not control.

HighLevel Inc, trading as GoHighLevel, which holds my contact records, the community and my email sending.

Zoom Video Communications, which is how the live sessions run.

Google, which provides my email.

My website host, which serves this site and keeps the server logs described above.

I will also disclose information if the law requires it.

Where your information is held

Some of these providers are based in the United States or store information there. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law allows, which in practice means standard contractual clauses or the UK addendum to them, agreed as part of using the service.

How long I keep it

If you register for a session or join the email list, I keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them, and for a short period afterwards so that I do not accidentally add you back.

If you enquire and we do not go further, I keep the enquiry for up to two years, in case you come back.

If you become a client, I keep the records for six years after our last dealing, because tax law requires it.

Server logs are kept for a short period by the host and then discarded.

Cookies

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. There is no Meta pixel and no Google Analytics on it. The only cookies are the ones strictly needed to serve the pages.

If that changes, this page changes with it, and you will be asked before any non-essential cookie is set.

Facebook and Instagram do track what you do inside their own apps, including whether you tapped one of my adverts. That happens on their platform under their policies rather than on this site.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:

Show you what I hold about you. Correct it if it is wrong. Delete it. Stop using it for a particular purpose, or restrict what I do with it. Send it to you or somebody else in a portable form. And you can withdraw consent at any time, which stops the emails without affecting anything I did before you withdrew it.

Email mark@thinkersathome.co.uk and I will deal with it within one month. It costs you nothing.

Children

This service is for adults. I teach parents, not children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given me their details, tell me and I will delete them.

If you are not happy

Tell me first, because most things are quicker to fix directly. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which is the UK regulator for data protection.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant and you are on my list, I will tell you by email rather than quietly editing the page.
